For those attending, last evening’s concert was magic - smiles alternating with tears in the audience at the beauty of the music. Grace Garnier performed solo on piano and accompanied Sydney Haskins singing (hoping to study Music at Oxford) and Luke Perrée on alto saxophone (soon departing for music college in the UK). Don’t be surprised to hear more from Sydney or Luke at national level in the coming years – at least we enjoyed them before they charged £millions to perform!
Our next Georgetown concert is on Thursday 25 July, 7.30pm with the students and staff from the Jersey Academy of Music for their annual end of term concert. This is always a big crowd-pleaser and an opportunity to hear much high quality music from young talented Islanders.
With no service at Georgetown this Sunday morning, we will bid Rev Tony and Cathy farewell at the St Helier Methodist Centre at 3.00pm at a Circuit service. We have been dreading this moment as we have benefitted from his ministry in many ways, including his Sunday worship, Bible study groups or pastoral care.
Next week’s service (28 July), a local arrangement with Hazel Le Boutillier, will be on the theme of miracles.
